Smurf

Just tinkered today really, I set the solonoid up as per the scan Panky did for me...guess what it wouldn't work at all! so put it back halfway between that and where I had it before and Bingo!

As I had it before it worked fine in 3rd & 4th but was acting a bit wierd in reverse....like the clutch was slipping!?!...hunkydory now though!

Other than that, Cazz had a drive today and emerged literally shaking lol...bless! she enjoyed it though:D



 
The o/d is only supposed to work on 3rd/4th gears, use it in reverse and you will trash it quickly [:0]

oh yeah i know that Tim but as I said it wasn't happy in reverse which is why I wanted to adjust it...cant say it enough Tim, what a true star you are for getting Scott sorted today[8D]

overdrive should only be used in 3rd & 4th gear
not 1st 2nd or definitely NOT reverse either.Just to make it clear for any one reading.

It was a bit scary, but i am a bit more confident now i drive allsorts at work... ok once i got used to the lack of brakes, and had a job to find 3rd gear several times lol... Still i am sure that she seemed easier to drive than the last time i had a go...

This is only the 2nd time i have had a drive, don't think Colin trusts me to take her out on my own, you should have seem his face when i said i would drive today :D[}:)]

got my new battery after 2 weeks and thought I'd go for a little run and guess what? Smurf was being very naughty and just would not start:(:( couple of feeble misfires thats all:(

Felt preety p'd off and not in the mood so just left it for a few hours, 'probably carp in the carb again' i thought...

took the air box off and all became clear, remember it's a webber and the airbox does not fit so I had wrapped a load of tape round the top of the carb to beef it out..well the engine cover presses down on the airbox and i think that with the heat of the engine had made the glue on the tape melt and it was half covering the air intake of the carb..
anyway, i removed all the tape and happened to have a couple of off cuts from the exhaust, 2 different sizes so, I cut a half inch piece of both, cut a slit in them and hey ho the perfect sleeve to make the difference up....did that turned the key and VROOM:D:D
