well, I haven't sworn & cussed much at the rain today...honest!
Still my cup is half full not half empty (must keep telling myself that) lol...
Used almost 2m of 8mm fuel line to divert the fuel line as far away from the engine as possible and put 2 inline filters in, started ok but wouldn't run for more than about 30secs...
Took the carb off then apart and cleaned it up and now running sweet as
treated her to an oil change, then took the prop off and fitted a new gearbox seal (the right way round this time:I) by then it was raining cats & smurfs so decided to call it a day... hopefully will be a bit dryer in the morning so I can get the gearbox filled then go try pulling that caravan
"you were only supposed to blow the bloody SLIDING doors off"
I have a funny feeling I would like to be put on the waiting list for one of the infamous Commeracer fuel tanks from the next batch[8D]....funny thing is, we let go a blinding tank with Bluebell....oh well, live & let live...
I'm afraid I've let the side down this weekend, all I did was put the oil back in the gearbox...didn't even go for a drive, think I got too wet on Friday and just haven't felt like it
I have 2 1/4 lights with quite good rubbers that need a rub down and paint, so that will be the next mission along with taking the long side windows out to reseal them...
My steering wheel has a couple of small cracks in, so I will fill them and spray it...can't make my mind up whether to keep it black or go Smurf blue...hmmm...
Well what a lovely day down in sunny old dorset today[8D] Didn't do any of the above lol, took all the self tappers out of one side window and thought better of removing the window, there was so much sealant holding it rock solid, so I put the screws back and just went round with extra sealant in relevant places.
I did however alter the interior round a bit so we now have a massive bed and will be sleeping longitudinally instead of transversly from now on[8D]
Going to reline the inside panels with a wipeable cusioned vinyl type stuff 2moz that Cazz got in Dunelm Mill ..
No pics today, sorry
Hi Colin Heidi here, I have been thinking about you today and Smurf towing a caravan to keep the boys out of the canvas.
Have you thought about a Portafold? light weight and low for towing and much better than canvas.
We have one and use the Superminx or my Figaro to tow it with, so I am sure that Smurf would be able to manage.[8D]
hello Heidi nice to hear from you we have a caravan on iour drive at the moment (belongs to a friend who has had to give up driving) we decided it is probably too risky....It got us thinking though about the hassle of putting up and taking down the tent in the dark or wet, we will look into it more next year as we are saving all our pennies for Disney in October..
