Well! it's been a while but I would like some input!....
Smurfs peak is in need of repair (aren't they all) now, to do this repair the high top will need to come offski! so this presents a dilema! ....once the high top is off, it may be impossible to refit it ....do I even try? or do I try and aquire a pop top roof or shall I go for a huge webasto? or do I go for a hard top roof? or do I go for summit completely different? I have something in mind but it involves buying an old rootes car as a doner....always a shame to break an old vehicle but it would be quite unique and different!
AND maybe re route the exhaust to passenger side and slam the bitch![}][}]
A bit radical but I see where you're going with the Rootes saloon donor - I like it[8D] The question is - which one would suit?
It would be simpler to take the roof off, repair and re-fit but not easy. Maybe take out all the screws/pop rivets (sorry can't remember which) securing the roof and prop the front up on a couple of lengths of timber while you do the repairs, then drop it back down again. Unfortunately the hole in Smurfs roof is bigger than any pop-top I've seen, but maybe the Viking side hinged roof would do - that's HUGE[:0]
hmmm! the word viking assocciates with Rover tho! (unless I get a V8) lol! I dunno, I would have to get the cannoe off first then get some stats from diff Rootes cars.... Hey! maybe I could make smurfs roof 'clip' over the mod and seriously use it as a paddle boat.....oh the magic mushrooms are putting the fire in my belly lololol
The only Commer with a Viking roof I've seen was at the first Coventry meet, the green one parked on the end of the row. When I looked inside with the roof up I swear I could see clouds - it was that high:I
Cats eyes are beautiful [8D]
Ive used a pic of smurf to illustrate them, hope thats Ok, tell me if its not.
Finally got round to going to Tai Pan this coming Sat on your recommendation.
