slave cylinder

ok still messing about trying to sort out the clutch so i thought it was time to take the slave cylinder off to have a little look to clean up change rubber parts etc but there seems to very little in it /with it? am i missing some parts or are they this basic ? thanks jamie

why of course:D] no just thought there would at least be a circlip to hold the piston in? main reason is just checking with the experts before i put it back on
 
Theyre annoyingly small bore. Ive gone through 2 and my van isnt even on the road yet.
