Skylight dimensions diagram

The wooden frame needs replacing.
Is there a diagram that shows the dimensions, specifically the curves? I’ll need to have one fabricated before I remove the the original.

From what I can see, the skylight is just two nested wooden frames topped with an acrylic panel and minimal seals, but the frame appears curved to accommodate the roof.

Has anyone used a different set up?

I'm hoping to pick my highwayman up from @colinthefox next week after its extended holiday and I have a new skylight cover to make, though my frame is fine. I expect I'll be drawing the whole thing up on CAD so would get reasonably accurate dimensions from that, assuming you have the same rooflight as me of course!

BTW, will be getting a new plastic window part made too soon so if yours is as cream crackered as mine let me know and it may make the whole thing less eye wateringly expensive. (or does anyone know which rooflight was used in to a 1970 highwayman and where to get spares?!)

Thanks for the photo.
My 1969 Highwayman has a different skylight; the Perspex was clear at one point but is now ‘frosted’ (cloudy). I did have it removed and polished about 5 years ago, but it’s not UV protected so clouded back over almost immediately.

I’ve tried RV shops but when I provided the dimensions I’m told it’s an escape hatch, not a skylight, and they have nothing to fit.
Please enjoy the photos of my grubby roof from parking under the trees.

Oh wow. Not original me thinks? (but an interesting option for a replacement if I can't find anything shaped like mine.... ) Anyway, looks like the opening is the same size as mine and of the same design so I'll knock up a drawing when I get the van back, hopefully at the end of this week. Just gotta cycle the 19 hours to get it

Try a bus or coach breakers. They may help

Sorry it's taken me an age. The joy of two young kids. I've drawn up the skylight, which matches the curves of the roof and drops down on all sides of the upstand. The stand itself is topped with a rubber seal on mine which is compressed when the skylight is latched down. Don;t know if this helps or not? (Dimensions in mm). I reckon it's only 20 mm on the curve in the entire width, which (if it matters) is an arc with radius of 4720 mm... CAD and Sketchup files would be attached but I can't upload the file types. DM me your email if you want them.

Disclaimer - I'm not a CAD professional! Perhaps best to view my drawing as a best guess....

Good job I did the CAD really. :(

The December storms have somewhat altered the appearance of my skylight

So, Mousey is now resplendent with a new skylight. For those who might be interested, it's a Mardome 900 x 600 mm skylight for flat roofing, double glazed polycarbonate. I've had to add a bit of aluminium to make a flat top to the upstand, but have managed to shape the dropped section to the roof.

Rubber seal is in the post (delivery in the new year I guess) so the new dome will seal internally to the upstand and externally to the roof. Or that's the plan. Just need to work out the raising and lowering mechanism now.

That’ll let in loads of light :). They do a worm screw but looks like it will protrude down too much IMG_2373.png
What about a simple water wind stay. You could drill a little hole in the post bits and R clips will keep the stay so it doesn’t slip and slam shut or pop open?IMG_2374.png
