Side Step

Hi All,

I have a side step and after trying a few different ways to fit it I am none the wiser. I could take a pic this weekend to show what I have but does anyone know how the hell they fit? It looks to have some sort of handle on the side but no idea how that works.

The handle looking bits comes up through a hole in the floor and is operated by the door as the door closes it pushes the handle in and down that lifts the step up on hinges to sit flush against the skirt under the door. When you open the door the step automatically drops down. I can post a pic of mine when i get chance.

I guess that explains the hole in the floor. I thought that was for accessing a handbrake cable or something. :/
