i was 'given' a Golf recently, as a project, but after my van got written off i had to sell it, to help buy a new van since i got naff all back from the insurance, anyway, i could've got up to about £400 for it on ebay, but someone came to view it, & i let them drive it away for £125,. i'd spent £100 + time on it.. but we both got a fair deal as, unlike some 'amazing' people on here i 'can't' drive a car round the block a couple of times & truthly comment on it's running/mechanical order,. i couldn't 'honestly' say it wouldn't over heat on a long run or start to judder at 50 or whatever..
our new Sherpa, my partner drove through london without a problem but when it got to where he could open it out he found there was a problem causing fuel starvation & it turned into a nightmare journey..
of course i can see why someone buys a bargain, tarts it up as cheaply as they can with $ in their eyes, but i myself would be honest with the sale & would very likely go back to the old boy with a christmas present, but that's just me, dam communist that i am, *cough-swearword-cough*
edit: i asked him how long he'd had it as it looks like one i saw up for sale recently & he outright lied & said it was his grandfathers from new.. traders can be horrid
Wait for me!!
