it is because your body goes 8 hours or so (if you are lucky) without! and all the hairs in your nose (which go all the way to your lungs) stand up on end as a natural barrier.......hence you wake up coughing (airways restricted) once you light up, the chemicals in the cig make the hairs lay flat! hence the airways are open and you stop coughing!........clever or not so clever use of chenicals in cigs by the manufacturers/government to make you smoke and gain huge revenue!

Just happend to be doing my bench seat and find this older topic!
Its from a Wanderer conversion from 1971 and looks original. Its about to get a makeover and go into the Iceman to make the third bed! The commer has more beds than the house[:0][V]
