Show us yer garage.

Well, seeing as you asked............

Four years ago we bought a house with a semi-derelict barn.

IMG_1000.JPG

The roof was falling in and it had an earth floor.

You can see the main roof timbers broken at the lower purlins.

IMG_1001.JPG

Going in the barn was proper scary, even without Eddy.

The rest of the timbers were pretty ropey too.

IMG_1002.JPG

In with a crane.

IMG_1003.JPG

And some steel.

IMG_1004.JPG

And rafters which I cut myself out of some condemned larch trees.

IMG_1005.JPG

Then membrane, and the original tiles went back on.

IMG_1006.JPG

Once safe and dry, I got some very skilled concreters to do a shiny reinforced concrete floor.

IMG_1007.JPG

Then more of that larch to make a front screen and roller doors.

IMG_1008.JPG

The glass was recycled too!

And here's inside.

No need to tell me how lucky I am. And I won't go on about how hard I worked for it!

Over 25 years ago we moved into a house with a nice dry largish single garage. Now it's a semi derelict mess with a dodgy extension grafted on the back:rolleyes:

Lovely garage Colin. It looks like you have given it the same care and attention as your van. I bet that steelwork took a bit of designing, particularly the feet sitting on the wall below the wall plate. What state were the walls in?

Parking bays:)

I had to paint white lines so I can see where I'm reversing when it's bright outside.

When is the hydraulic lift going in:D

Part of the floor has been designed for a two post lift, but I didn't go ahead due to the extra obstacles that would be on the floor.

Very observant. I could only do it on CAD with my own millimetre survey. Mostly the walls were good, but in places the thrust of the old roof had pushed the tops off, and they had to be rebuilt without dropping anything on the neighbours' asbestos roof!
