Speedy's do a weber replacement which I have put on my van and it seems to run well and is simple to set up.

Likewise, it's a massive improvement over the awful original one. Knocked ten seconds of the 0-60 time, it's under a minute now!

My bus is running rich as well - haven't started investigating yet but massively over-revs in neutral and I'm able to lose the choke sooner than I should. Does anybody know of a decent carb overhaul kit for the 1725 (I'm assuming needle or diaphram problem) or is it really worth biting the £130 bullet and converting to a lovely shiny new Weber?

Diaphrams are about £2 each, needles about £4 each. Easily available - generic to Stromberg

Thanks Jules

Sorry for ignorance but I've seen info on here about Zeniths - my engine is a '72 1725. Would it be Zenith or Stromberg? I really must have a root around in the engine bay and see what I've got hold of but am being forced to sort decorating the house first....
