cool, well the shock is the same so it bolts up on all the same mountings as the commer one. Bottom plate stays the same. Hilux often are given lift kits, not much cool for them being made lower but I will look into lower ones maybe the 2 wheel drive hylux uses shorter shocks. I will try and find out for you
Yeh I was thinking that! You remember they made a hilux mk2 I think that wasn't at a raised height?! Was wondering about those shocks maybe? Much appreciated
UPDATE
I took delivery of a pair of nice new hilux uprated shocks.
So as you can see the hulux shocks are a little bit longer on full reach, being off a hilux they do have vary long travel so this shouldn't cause any problems. The only modification is the need to drill the bottom mount out to 12mm.
And this is what they look like on.
If anyone else whats to try a pair of these, I got them from
www.roughtrax4x4.com.
The shocks are the same as Mk3 Hilux pickup front 80-97
(model, uk, LN105)
the website stock 2 standard ride hight shocks. The ones I went for were the 1 3/8 diameter, this makes them the uprated version.
It will be a bit of time till I can actually tell you how well they perform, as it's still just a body shell with front suspension lol. I'm positive that it will stiffen the ride up nicely. From compressing the shocks by hand they are soft at the top end and get harder to compress the more you push them down. Its quite noticeable so should work well.
As the website says,
"ten-stage valving deliver a comfortable road ride and superb off-road performance."
cool, will look forward to hearing how they perform. the wife wants me to try and stiffen dolly up as all the rolling makes her nervous, when she was stood in the back the other day dolly got hit by a gust of wind and mel nearly shat herself lmao

If only you had waited another day then you could have had a hunt of roughtrax.
From the pic they look like the same but they are from a different model. Will be interesting to know how you get on. If they do work then it gives us all more range to shop between.
