I'm surprised anyone noticed we was gone:D .....erm...HOT! ...tbh i had reservations about going, it didn't seem to be my cup of tea, I'm quite well travelled and have always strayed purposely from the 'holiday resorts' preferring to see what foreign cultures are all about... I can say I absolutely enjoyed it and would defo go again ....I have issues with the American Gov but all the normal Americans I met were just like us....completely nuts:D:D ...We swam with the Dolphins....I swam 1/4 of a mile smashing my 10m record from school...[8D]
I am now famous! ....I faced a Man vs food challenge and had to eat 12 chicken wings in 6 minutes (they are huge) covered in the hottest sauce they had...I cracked it with over a minute to spare...you are not allowed to wipe your face or hands or drink until the time is up, so i licked my fingers clean and mopped the sauce up lol .......then i ordered another 6 wings and fries:D:D .....they thought I was nuts:D:D.....I got my name and photo on their wall and got an exclusive T-shirt ......it didn't even hurt the next morning:I ........

Sorry folks for the hijack...Panky did ask though.I have a lot of stories about it....so much fun...thanks for asking Panky:D

Hasta la supervista baby

Many thanks to Karen and Martin for a great if for-shortened week-end.
Good to see everyone old and new.:D;)
Sorry to have missed some of you and apologies to everyone we missed saying good-bye to when we spent rather longer in Harrogate than intended on Sunday afternoon.:(
Had a good time visiting York on Monday, then on to Ockbrook, Derbyshire to spend some time with Sue,s sister and stayed in the van till Tuesday when we made our way home via Melton Mowbray and Stamford, where we spent a very enjoyable 3 hours before continuing home. Once again the van behaved impeccably during the 600 odd miles.[8D][^] Sue very much enjoyed the week-end and is looking forward to the next one.:p:p:D:D
Cheers

back to my "rootes"

Hi Trev it was great to see you again and to meet the lovely Sue:)
I bet it was a shock to head out of a field full of Commers and tents then come back to nothing but grass:I

Yeah, I think it's something to do with Brian and North Yorkshire, he had no brakes last time due to a failed brake seal, this time lack of shoes on the rear ( not a lot of notice, one day fine next day gone). I should have checked them sooner as the trip back from Runswick Bay via the moors ended in disaster with no brakes on a hill and only a wall to stop us:([}:)]:(:( luckily not too bad

Bad enough, especially has the van has just been repainted. Rear corner fibreglass panel damage, newly chromed bumper scuffed and brackets bent. I've already straightened the brackets and rubbed down and cut out the damaged fibreglass ready for repair, just hope the paint matches. The bumper will need rechroming but at least it's not dented. Shame in more ways than one as we were having a very good day up to that point. Could have been a lot worse though.
