Hi Everyone,
Some of you may remember I tried selling my Commer Motorhome on Ebay in February, well the old girl sort of sold but the lad who was interested in her never came and collected her even though I did send email reminders and texts - it was unfortunate, but just one of those things... Anyway its been parked outside my house since then and now the clutch cylinder needs bleeding!
The engine starts easily and the van was last taxed and on the road in May 2005.
The mileage reads 87,489.
There's an Overdrive Unit fitted.
Tax Excempt she has Historic Vehicle status on the V5C and is Sorned.
The tyres are good all round.
The Rear Spring Hangers look alright though there is one Rust Hole in the rear offside steel box outrigger near the rear spring hanger, also the underside of the van is covered in surface rust - I've had a scrape around underneath to have a further look but don't see any other holes.
Front springs are coil on wishbones.
As a lot of you know - the interior space inside is HUGE probably more so than a Citroen H Van! (A Commer Motorhome went through fleabay a few years ago and they had installed a nice cast iron woodburner where the loo cuboard had been!)
Problems are the previous owner took most of the nice interior kitchen and seats out of this one and junked them... The battery is also deceased.
Rust has eaten into the roof area above the frontdoors so anyone buying her will have to be good at Diy Welding / and Bodywork plus woodwork...
The rear back door bulkhead needs fixing as its no longer aligned properly with the rear floor, this is where the damp is starting to get in. there's some cracks in the GRP side skirts and two small ones in the GRP roof moulding.
Anyway for someone whos got some time and or money I think shes worth saving...
I've still got Rusty the Autosleeper to do something with and you cant keep everything -
The price I've decided on is £450.
I have driven her and she goes pretty good, (I remember looking for just an overdrive unit for the Autosleeper and the price was £200.) so I think £450. for the whole Motorhome is Ok.
I'm away nextweek so come next (Sat 16th May) if anyone would like to see her - I live 8 miles from Junc 14 M4, south of Hungerford Berkshire. Pst Codex SP 11 0 LL
On my next post I'll get the pics from Photobouquet
Best wishes, Ross
