Seatbelts

The original webbing is frayed and stiff, and the clasp tends to flop open... so time to replace.

Anyone installed a newer system, or upgraded to retractable harness?
I'd love to keep an original type of buckle, but haven't found any online for the Commer.

I had the same problem and replaced them with these

You local supplier should be able to get the same or similar ones to the 500/CV. It's the long stalk supplied with this set that's important as it puts the socket right next to your seat and not behind like some sets do.

I would assume the difficulty with finding the vintage style belts is the conformity. Belts have to be tested to certain standards and maybe the old latch type do not qualify?

Hi. There's a dude on eBay at the moment selling Commer seat belts (long stalks) beige, blue & black off the top of my head.... Hope it helps
