Well window is back in, can say what I did to fix but I warn you now - it isn't pretty......[xx(]
Made up a replacement bit of window seal channel out of galvanised scrap bit I had in shed with cut down galvy jubilee clip attached to tie new piece onto existing end of rotted channel..
When you make yours of course, It will be a gleaming example of exquisite fabrication - and will line up perfectly first time, unlike mine.
Drilled out channel in suitable places to re-attach sprung pivot and little snib window catch.
Only fixed jubilee clip in one place on new channel which allowed for some movement to let everything line up and also attached other end of channel to flat piece across top of door gap again to allow adjustment.
Seal sits back in channel now and will be repairing any splits with wetsuit repair gunge called 'black witch' once it stops bloomin' raining.
Unlikely that this is an approved piece of engineering but if any of the above principals -better executed- are any help I will be well chuffed. If anyone has any better tips - let me know 'cos I still have the drivers' door to do
New topic? - Why does it always start raining when you take your windows out[?]
