Rustbucket radar...

A little while ago one of the employees in my company came back from a job all excited. He had found a commer at a very remote customers place. I demanded every detail and arrangements were made to visit the guy that weekend. We had a great day 'harvesting' parts and drinking beer so on. Then on the way home i said casualy
"would'nt it be funney if we went round this bend and there was a second commer there" About twenty seconds later i hit the brakes because there in a field beside the road was another commer!
Here are a couple of pix. It seems to be slightly unusal in that there is no rear doors... Anyone recognise it?

Calls will be made and parts will be collected. I think it might be to far gone to be restorable but will let you know what happens.

A commer down under - or down under a commer?

We visited New Zealand a few years ago for honeymoon, I spent most of our travelling spotting classic trucks and vans. Good job my wife is sympathetic to the classic cause.

kjh;)

Hi Colin, It was a staged photo and goggles were used for the 'real' work, Not sure if operating a big ass grinder with 'beers on' is up to code tho... Us Kiwis have a reputation to keep up! LOL

Hi Iceman, having lived in Aus for a couple of years working at Ford in Melbourne, the biggest H&S abuse I saw was when the guys stapled the apprentice to a sheet of ply and hoisted him up on the gantry crane to hang there over lunch!!:D

That 1st one is really cool looking... is that to be restored :D

Shame about the over poor soul!!! Love the New Zealand accent at the end of the filming :D

Cazz...Is just Commer mad, and talks a load of nonsense

I do like the sunshades all around this van's windows.

Not that I'd like to have these things myself, but do like the look of them :) Could double as rain-screens here in wet Norway. Haha :D

That's a cool high top in the first pic. I like the way it starts behind the front cab - room for a tasty rack at the front.

I do agree, but that tasty rack would have to be about the size of the "soap, brush and shampoo" racks you sometimes find on the old bathtubs .. :D

Can't be space for much more than that [)]

Martin has been quiet? Do you reckon he is on his way Down under' in his Tow truck!?!
