Rust remedies

I think most of us have had the odd spot or two on our vans, I've been wielding the mig today and I thought I'd pass on a recommendation.

Last year local farmer gave me half a cupfull of a product called "Aquasteel" he paints it onto some of his machinery thats left outside, by the looks of things the results seem outstanding, I used some myself on the underside of the Highwayman, a few months on it seems to have cured and stopped the rust that was there. The only problem being I could'nt find any in the shops, more of an idustrial type product I suppose, but I've now found some being sold on ebay, very good coverage and very economical in use.

Looks good and less than £25 for 5 litres delivered - aquasteel.co.uk. I think I will be investing - cheers for the tip!

That is brilliant[^] I've been using the Locktite stuff but I'll bet it's not half as effective as that - expensive too:I

It's on ebay as well, more expensive than the website but OK if you want smaller quantities - I don't think (hopefully) I'll need 5 litres, it has a shelf life of 12 months when opened so could end up with 4.9 of those in the bin. Excellent if you do all the underside though [^]

Coverage wise the half litre bottle I bought primed the whole inside cab floor, the new bits I welded onto the rad intake and the rusted areas below, there was enough left over to do the front suspension and all with the recommended two coats, so quite economical, a couple of litres would probably do most of the vehicle.
