I've been using Aquasteel for ages and it does a great job of halting the rust - but it's rubbish on the bodywork you can see as it will eventually lift a skim of filler put over it. Now some of you probably already now this other stuff I've just found but I thought I'd share my experience.
The Mini guys love this stuff and highly recommend it
I did a little trial today on an awkward bit on the Mini - the rear wheel arch to body joint.
After a wire brushing and de-grease.
Deox Gel splurged on
Left for an hour then wire brushed and washed down
Not the best of pictures but it has eaten most of the rust away and dull grey metal can be seen instead of rust but there is a bit of flash corrosion starting already. I'll give it another dose tomorrow just to be sure.
Another good thing about it is that it doesn't appear to damage the paint - the wire brush does though
There's a couple of bits on the bodywork that need doing so I'll report back when I do them.
