well 2moros the big day. just been up to the shed for a few last minute checks and she wouldnt start. after a quick fiddle she started but now wont idle without a little bit of pressure on the throttle hoping its just a case of the throttle linkage bedding in and going a little slack. however guess we'll find out tomoro.:(

didnt even get to the mot station as it wouldnt start, wouldnt idle wen it would start, and wen it tried to move it felt like the handbrake was on. (it wasnt). thinking there may be an airleak somewhere. richie managed to get it ticking over today but by then we'd cancelled the test. so it will be on hold till dads back from his holiday. also the uprated cam in it may have to come out as its just such a flat spot at 2000rpm it may be dangerous on the road. nt a gud day 2day.

Oh no [V] if you can cure the air leak and get it running ok then it would be well worth putting it on the rolling road, as the flat spot could be dialled out. Be a shame not to as you,ve spend all that time and effort so far :)

"You,re only supposed to blow the bloody SLIDING doors off"

Rich i recon that carb man whos been messing has screwed it up it didnt sound to bad when i popped in the other day and got it running. Something is a miss somewhere will have to see if i can get 5mins to pop up and have a look.Richie said there was fuel leaking from the surposedly refurb carbs today and when he looked the fibre waser hadnt been changed still the old ones. I would get the carb man back cuz it seems you have paid him to make it worse. Like tim says get it on the rollers and sort it out it aint the cam mate dont start ripping bits off till its been set up correctly. The amount of mods its had it was never goin to be a turn the key and off you go;);)
Dont worry it will sort its self out with the correct adjustments;);)

A shame to be let down on such good work by a suspect carb rebuild - hope you get this beast sorted soon.

'Hunny' our Commer Hi-Tor by TorCars

found an air leak as the standard 1725 gasket is not up to the job but looking thro our gasket drawer found a new h120 gasket which is much meatier so fitted that
off to aldon automotive who have rejetted it again[}:)][}:)],built a new disributor, fitted electronic ignition and remapped it now producing 90bhp and running sweetly
next step into the mot station where it failed on the handbrake fouling on the exhaust but a quick bend of a bracket rectified that and the first mot for 21 years is in our hands
so looking to give it a run so any ideas where we could go over the last weekend in july?

best of luck with the mot but dont think you will have any probs this time:) no idea to where you can go at end of the month:p:D
