rstoration has started

its ALIVE, And all it took was 1 transit van a heavy duty booster pack a battery and a JON. as the engine was so tight. IT NOW runs sweet and starts first turn of the key. the noise is deafening. the servos all plumbd in by richie and the framework for the boarding out in the back has gone in so a very productive week on the van. just gotta get a working clutch and its off for a test drive. if its as fast as it is loud its gna be interesting.

as long as its insured and booked in u will be fine!

Just use it mate ;)

p.s if you buy ur plates off ebay theyd be with you monday or tuesday [8D]

Pretty sure a car has to arrive at the MOT station under it's own power?
As said, as long as it's insured you can drive to a pre-booked MOT without VEL. They can use the chassis number and/or reg plates for the certificate. No need for the V5.

You can't tax it without the MOT so they let you drive to and from a pre-booked MOT without the tax. Must be insured though. Once you have the MOT take it and the Insurance certificate to the post office and collect your tax disc.

I wasn't aware of that, I've always shied away from cars with no t&t due to the issue with not being able to tax it without the MOT, but then if I didn't have tax, I assumed I couldn't drive it to get the MOT. That's potentially opened up a few more cars for me now.

I love all 4 wheeled vehicles, irrespective of age, (apart from Mondeos and Focus').

rite just 2 recap. i can drive it to the mot station as long as its booked in and insured without tax or a v5. i can obtain an mot certificate and then drive home without taxing it. but i was under the impression that u cant tax it without a v5(logbook) so it would just have 2 go straight home and back in my shed till the v5 appears as you have 2 supply the cert of insurance an mot certificate and the v5 in order to tax it.

Yes correct, unless if you go to a local DVLA office to tax it. Then you can apply for a document at the same time, on a form V62. If you didn't get one with the vehicle, then it's free. If you have had one and lost it, it's £25 [B)]

That's IF, and it is an if, your local DVLA still allows you to tax your vehicles at their offices, our local one did away with it a month or two ago.
