Just getting the inside set for sanding and painting, and found the bulk head wood to be rotten. So my question is when i replace it,what is the best wood to use and also how is it fixed to the side and roof of the van.
Hi Bob, not sure about the Highwayman but Harvey's wooden bulkhead was made out of what looked like 1/8'' veneer faced plywood tacked to a timber frame that itselfe was screwed to the metal work, the panel pin holes had been covered by a dab of wood filler to hide them. I replaced the lot with ply from B&Q and mixed stains to try and get a good match.
Removed some of the rotten wood, and now the corner has come apart,so was thinking of using some aluminium angle and riviting it to the corner with some silicon sealant between to waterproof the join,is this the way to go or is there a better/correct way to do it.
