Hi
Daisy seems to rev intermittently and excessively when hot. Can’t find anything obvious. Throttle linkage not sticking. Wondered if it maybe carbs? Not sure what to check. Any ideas/help would be great. Thanks. Hazel
 
Hi Hazel, I seem to remember you have an Alpine engine fitted - does it have twin Stromberg carbs? They have a rubber diaphragm under the top dome and can develope pin holes in them which may cause your problem. Another possibility is that you have an air leak somewhere causing a weak mixture, first thing to check though is the dashpot oil level - engine oil should be OK to top it up if needed.

Topped the dash pots which were a bit low. Seemed to work. But going to check out the diaphragm just in case.
Also, just had her original leaf springs replaced at Midland Springs Colwick. Would recommend. They did a great job, nice guys, not cheap but she drives so much better now.
