Reverse lamp?

My highwayman dosent have a reversing light, id like to fit and connect one though, is it just a case of making a feed from the fuse box to the switch on the gearbox and then to the lamp?..Anybody out there fitted one?..im sure you need one for the MOT, or do you?.

my riley does not have reverse lights, not needed for mot,due to its age...but you do have to watch out for the idiots on the road that don't see you reversing, usually because they are going too fast [:0]you sound as though you know what to do by your description should you want to fit them.

Is there a switch fitted? I don't think I've seen a Commer with one fitted originally. Maybe the later Dodges had them.

I noticed that 'Ran' had clear lenses on the rear and thought it might be a reversing light..on my BW auto box on the n/s there is an electrical connector with 4 terminals, i thought this might be the reverse switch.Could do with a manual for the box really..
But if its not legal requirement, age related i might just leave it for now.

Thanks! :D

Hahaa!...mums on one at the moment..i left a wash bowl full of old oil by the shed, thing is it rained, and it rained, then it rained some more and the bowl kind of overflowed all over the path and patio...

oops

Or a cat rubbed vigorously over the stain, big fluffy ones are best they absorb more [}:)]

The cat would have to be the size of a grizzly bear!!..haha!..its kind of a really big mess...[}:)].The house is next to a private owned field and the owners have been round and spoken of how he thinks someone has been and dumped a load of oil in his field!..not good for the enviroment for sure...ooops.[)]

I think Chris's idea of covering the spill with cat litter is a good one, it's more or less the same stuff as the absorbent they use for cleaning up spills in industry. Definitely worth a try, leave it on for a day then brush it up and hopefully it won't rain before you do.
