A mate of mine has just aquired a commer PB autosleeper - 1971 - and getting it into reverse is a real pain - all other gears are fine and hydraulic seals have been changed in clutch master cylinder and clutch cylinder replaced with a new one - however whether engine is running or not it is extremely tough to get it into reverse gear - so much so he's developed the commer equivalent of tennis elbow - sounds wierd but he's finding selecting reverse gear is not only difficult but painful too - and a nightmare in car parks where you need to shunt back and forth to get in a space. What could be wrong ? I've had a look and can't see anything out of place but it needs an almighty shunt to the right and then back to find reverse - and even then its quite easy to slip into 4th in error....is there an adjustment ?
