I have been trying the art of lead Loading. Maybe filler would be easier and a lot cheaper but I thought I'd go for the old school approach

Cheers panky. The thing is that the rot is so localised and the surrounding metal is in stunningly good condition that I can't justify fitting larger repair panels. Although it would probably be a lot more straightforward.

I totally agree with your approach, no point in cutting out perfectly good metal - you'll find plenty of rust to cut out without scrapping the good stuff

95% of the cut out metal/rust is kept to fabricate garden sculptures. That is when I find time
