Replacing my drums.

Hi I've put the two new flexy hoses onto my van, the systems been bled and new brake fluids been put into the master cylinder, the old hoses were in a bad condition. The pedal no longer feels spongy and it isn't pulling to one side. The guy who did the work for me mentioned that the adjuster would only goto two clicks rather than the three it's supposed to, but he did tell me it will be safe to continue to use (I presume this is because the drums are worn). So will all four drums need to be replaced along with new shoes? I've been told the shoes are virtually new so will they need replacing aswell. As the drums are worn how long will it be before I have to replace them? If they need replacing straight away it's going to be down to the cost of everything. So hopefully I can continue to use the van fir now. Thanks for answering more of my questions.

The only way to tell for sure is to measure the inside diameter of the drums as Greg suggested, but if they are working OK and there is still plenty of adjustment left then I would say they are god for plenty more use yet and don't worry about it. When it's time to re-new the shoes (in a few years) that will be the time to measure everything up

There's some not too expensive wear gauges on ebay Andrew if you want to check your inside diameters, for example:-

I'm going to leave it for now, the guy who did it for me said there was plenty of adjustment left. I've got a few other jobs to be getting on with.
