Removing the two front grills and the rear windows

Hi I just wondered how hard it is to remove the toe front grills and the two rear windows? I am starting to prepare for finally painting my van, it should be done by sometime in June.

The small upper grille is held on with two small nuts accessed in the cab up at the sides of the heater, a bit awkward to get to. The main grille is held on by the two self tapper screws on the corner pieces of the grille. Once they're off there are a couple of clips holding the chrome edges on, the trim should just pull off these - gently. The mesh is screwed to the front with a few self tappers that are hidden under the chrome edges you will have just removed.

There may well be but if there are just drill them out and use self tappers when you put it back together.

You can see in this pic where the window seal fits

To get the window out use a screw driver to gently prise the seal over the lip of the opening, bit by bit, from the inside. once the seal is about half way over the lip try giving the glass a firm shove with the palm of you hand to see if it will move - if not carry on with the screw drive for a bit and try again.

Cheers panky, how difficult is it to get the windows and seals back in?

I did it last week and this time I found it dead easy, you need to get yourself a helper and some wire cored plastic washing line. But your seals need to be in good condition and supple.

It can be done but strong cord (or the washing line I used) makes it so much quicker and easier.
