Oh I forgot now getting rad re-cord with complete refurb new fan and possibly elec pump..
And not even drove around the block!!

Thanks for that, I forgot how the cost adds up, our van has been stored for the last few years whilst we brought up our young family.. We done a few upgrades previously with new fuel tank, petrol pump, carb, electronic ignition, and a bit of fiddling around with the wiring As well as the usual things you have to do..
 
This 2 piece kit looks pretty good.. Think it's the same pump as Panky mentioned..
It's looks fairly straightforward too..
Might have to save some more pennies!!

Yep I fitted the Davies Craig but didn't bother with the speed controller, just made sure there was a bypass ( the heater) so the pump doesn't get dead-ended. My fan is actually off an Escort turbo diesel and I made up some brackets to make it fit.
I really wouldn't worry about fitting an electric pump or fan - it's just more expense for you, they are good but the original ones do the job fine if the cooling system is in good condition and the limited space in the Commer engine bay makes it a little awkward to get in. I fitted them to Harvey purely to wring out a few more horsepower from the engine;) My other vans engine is standard and runs cooler than Harvey. Concentrate on getting your rad fixed and a replacement fan, If you do find there is a problem with the pump (if there is then it will be leaking) then you can think again
 
Here's my pump part way through the installation. Note the old pump housing blanked off and the chunky lekky fan bracket. I also made a new Thermostat housing to that a temp switch for the fan.

I also moved the rad forward to get the fan and pump in but it could be done without - just
 
Wise words, with virtually a brand new rad and fan things should be a bit cooler than before, I can remember from a few years ago sitting in traffic watching the temp creep up;) hopefully new rad and temp controlled elec fan will help..
 
Now that's a chunky/solid fan mount Mr. Panky, however that fan blade looks rather close to the flues for comfort for this thread!

I run the stock fan with electric fan mounted on the other side on a manual switch but hardly ever used.
 
Yep it's close but solidly mounted and all the more efficient for it:)
You've been lucky, sometimes fitting an auxiliary in front blocks the flow and can make things worse. I'm thinking of teeing a bike rad in for a little extra cooling
 
When I got my rad recored, I enquired if there was an uprated core available. Indeed there was, (25% greater capacity than standard) so I had it fitted at no extra cost.
 
Couldn't see anything to obvious to the cause but will have a good rummage around over the weekend when one of my friends knows a bit more than me what to look for.. Also was a bit tricky to remove you need arms like spaghetti to get to some of the fixings, can see why was easier with panel off..
 
Really funny you say that I was just looking at it and thought that would look a bit arty in the right setting..
Don't think the misses would agree!!
She already fuming it's in the hallway..
