remove pop top

:D Hello , Soooo im new to your fantastic world of commers and just wondering if you can remove pop top and replace with a rag top/ open roof ? I come from the world of VW's so not sure wots the right thing to do with commers .......... Can they be slammed ???
Or am i being naughty ?[:eek:)]

Pauly!, you will not find any snobbery here as you may well be nervous of finding!.....a Commer on the road is a Commer...it matters not to us nutters what you wish to do or modify and the more unusual the better?!

Welcome to the madhouse mate:D if you use the search facility, (top right of screen and type in slammed, you should find some interesting stuff) [8D]



 
Hi Paul,

My mate used to have a Type2 with a rag top, depending on what conversion you get, I think the hol will be pretty similar in size, so it would be worth checking with a VW supplier, as I reckon you could get one off the peg and install it in a commer with minimal customisation. We thought of doing the same with Frodo, but his pop top is massive, and extends down the sides of the roof, not just the flat part, so it would have looked pretty messy! Also, with the roof up, theres almost 7' of headroom, which is great, and a ragtop would have meant walking around in the van like Quasimodo!

cheers guys for advice, im gonna use this forum alot more from now on as i now Know its a commer i want and need !:D

we have a 6 year old who is sooooo desperate for a camper - just that if we ever have one sprayed he wants to choose colour ?!!! And thats abit scary [}:)]
