Rear Seatbelts

Operation Klunk - Klick has been completed!
After the discussion here, I decided to go for a full on solution, so I got a pair of seats from a transit minibus with integral belts. I then chopped them in half and set about making and re-making some brackets to fit them to the van.
Here are the brackets:
They were then bolted up to the seat seats as per the original mountings (but extras needed to be added as there was only one bracket on either end of the seat before).
These were then bolted into the original seat boxes:
and hey presto - seatbelts!:
I was worried about loosing bedspace, but it seems ok
so what do you think!

its through the floor with BIG spreader plates - looks ok to me!
You're right about the hinging, but it might be a problem with the top seatbelt mount not being properly fixed.
I'm going to make some "socks" to cover the frames so they are a little less conspicuous.
It's all removable to I can return it to "original" when the kids are bigger. I also decided NOT to cut the original wood as I know if I was restoring the van after me, then I'd want the original still in one piece - after all we are all just looking after our vans for the next owners!

the kids car seats fit in pretty well and provide a lot of support (kinda bucketty)

That was quite helpful... Thank you. We will def have to play around and see what we can do, only problem is we have a 13 yr old, 12 yr old 8 yr old and 2 yr old lol.. so should be interesting [?]

we've been having a headache with the issue of seatbelts for Wilma, to fit them we'd have to take up alot of the floor, we thought about changing seats around but as one of our 'children (15yr)' is almost 6ft, he'd have his knees up round his ears, LOL at the thought! no room on the side with the water tank either for the othe big child of 13, so I think we're gonna put the 4yr old in the front seat and the bigger ones in the back, if I tie them together and sit on them they won't go far!!! LOL might be bit of a lumpy journey tho' we're gonna fit a lap belt to the seat above the engine, hot bums!!!
