rear seat belts

I fitted an integeral seat belt seat from an LDV minibus into the back of our Highwayman for our daughter. It is bolted through the chassis. We now have twins on the way and I had to think how to get two more seats in the back.
My solution is Unwin recessed seat tracking. This is the stuff they use in minubusses to hold seats down and also in Taxis to hold wheelchairs. The recessed stuff fits into a channel I cut into the floor (the wooden part - bolts go through the floorpan and chassis) and is easily covered by a rug when not in use. The two seats (more intergral seat belt types bought on eBay) clip in and out using unwin clips. Not much space to move when they are in place but they are going to be cracking seats to sip my beer in under the awning!
Trackiong and clips are expensive if bought new but eBay is always listing second hand stuff. The great thing is the seats come right out when not needed - seats are heavy though.

That's another advantage of a coachbuilt, enough room to fit such a good system.
Martin Maltas fitted some rear anchor points to Clarabell, I didn't have a close look but they seemed to be lap belts secured by big spreader washers under one of the rear seat boxes, these were then attached to a child's seat placed on top of the seat box. Not sure if any further strengthening was carried out.

As we've made the decision to keep Bessie Bus and give the old girl some lurving, seatbelts for three forward-facing kids seats (one a booster) are now a necessity. I'm doing what I can to find an easily transferable solution for all, and am more than happy to learn from those who have overcome the same Highwayman/Commer problem.

As we've made the decision to keep Bessie Bus and give the old girl some lurving, seatbelts for three forward-facing kids seats (one a booster) are now a necessity. I'm doing what I can to find an easily transferable solution for all, and am more than happy to learn from those who have overcome the same Highwayman/Commer problem.
