Can't believe I've been missing all the fun on this thread - must learn to improve my priorities :p Holbay hey? interesting stuff, Ran will be able to give Dozer a run for his money soon:D Have some interested parties here that are keen to know how you get on with full progress report - Klix owners know of one and maybe of another for Bessie if her engine packs up.

Managed to get original switch for washers to replace homespun effort fitted but highly complicated techno rewiring job done by previous owner means no apparent way of getting 2 speeds (has a timing delay fitted which doesn't do anything) and washer switch don't work either:I

May well have spare headlight switch in depths of shed, will go in for a rummage once wind drops enough for me to open door[:0];)

Good luck on Holbay, definitely exciting stuff:p

Hi Kes [8D]Didn't see this post till now [V]
Don't know about giving Dozer a run for his money, more interested in lowering fuel costs & getting up hills without struggling [xx(]
original switch for washer should turn once then again, would pic's help [?]mind you won't be for a while.
spare headlight switch could be very usefull :Dmind you getting quite good at hitting hazard lights & pulling over lol
picking up holbay no.2 at the w/e for rebuild or spares [}:)]:p:)[8D]

Switch I have now was from a highwayman dash which twists for different speeds and pushes for washers- sadly press switch doesn't work but used it to look more original than what was there before. Don't have 2 speeds because rewiring dude did for wiper delay disappears up into cab roof to pot and switch fitted next to clock above windscreen[:0] and beyond my little brain to find out how he's done it:I.

Will carry on looking for switch - meant to double check, was it dashboard switch you needed or foot dipswitch? (I know where foot ones I have are so can look wonderfully efficient if you need one:D:I)

hi just being nosey what does the average commer get to the gallon as before my swap mine was crap its better now 30 on the motorway & 28-26 running round---- 20ish round town as am abit heavy footed :Dcoz i lke the rumble ..much beeter than origonal but i did scream it [}:)] and now no hill probs at all .. but fuel & go r allso down to new rear axle

I managed 30mpg on a very careful economy run just to see what I could get, that was tootling along at about 40/45 mph all day on good A roads. About 20/25 mpg was normal.

thats wot mine did ( crap ) i was worried that it was just mine listening to some on hear .. glad i made the swap .. i get roughly the same as the v6 donor the drive train came from ..

i thought you might have recognized those carbs dozer, being a bike man ;)
ran manages 25-30 on a run. as dozer says its mostly down to the low diff ratio, and the restrictive exhaust [xx(]

"you were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off no.3"

Bessie around 25ish mark, lots of hills here to climb - she's definitely better since new exhaust.

No luck on headlight switch yet I'm afraid Chris, found spare dash panel but no switchgear left[V] - will keep rummaging as should be something in there.

This must be one of Bilbays photos, there seems to be a kangaroo sitting next to the manifold ;):D
