Tim also welded up the hinge for the hook-up(it's been tied under the van since I got her) [:0]
Next thing to do is head light switch does any one have one of these ?

I'll have to check the barn for the dash I have - don't know whether it has the switches still or not
 
I believe these switches are also used by some BMC / BL and made by Lucas - if so, I found this one on Ebay just now,

If they are the same then I guess classic Mini suppliers could be a good source ongoing.

Admin, if you're checking your dash does it have a decent temp gauge as mine it losing it markings ?

Does anybody have a spare original wash-wipe switch (I've got a separate replacement for each and on either side of the steering
wheel. Still not mastered the simultaneous use ;)

Ran has the said switch it also requires mastering push to sqirt,turn anticlockwise once for wipers,twice for faster(not recomended as its hypnotic [:0]):D[}:)]:DI call it dooo lallllly mode!!!!....but I know what you mean about the other set up too, of two switches either side of the steering wheel (my riley has this set up)ok when you get use to it, weird when I have been driving Ran ;)squirt then wipe works best imo

You realise you will need to write a book on the transplant, there are loads of us that need to know the propper job :)

Pictures, diagrams, measurements, hints, tips and advice, method statement, risk assessment, how much beer/tea was consumed and an estimate of how many man/woman hours it took so I can multiply that by 50 cos it takes me that much longer :)

Ahh, I can see you and Tim now skipping hand in hand (in soft focus[8)]) between the decaying remains of long forgotten Commers looking dewy-eyed at the rusting hulks only true enthusiasts could appreciate (I'm one of them, enthusiast not rusting hulk :I) Then scarpering quick with a Holbay lump under your coat, 'Make way, make way' Tim shouts 'the lady is 11 months pregged and about to give birth to a 150kg petrol gulper, make way'
Remakably two weeks later Ran is re-born as Ranolbay :D
