RAN

ive been having a good think over the last few months,and seeing as though commer vans are hard to come by these days and adding to the fact that a) i havent much money at the moment and b) my roof has snapped off in the wind ,i think im going to turn my camper into a van by welding up the side windows with sheet metal,and i might put a webasto foof in it or maybe a perspex one,or i might just make a new roof from metal.of coarse i will have to put in the bigger engine aswell if im to carry all these panels ect around to the shows.;):p what do you lot think to my idea.
 
Would be an interesting project and it is a van you really want so go for it, just be careful and don't warp the panels with all that welding. With the engine upgrades you've got planned and those luverley wheels it would be a real eye catcher. Maybe rather than try to re-create the original panels why not try a simpler method of a single sheet of metal to cover the window holes with a 'Woolfies Panels' logo painted on each side. That way it could easily be changed back to a camper should you fancy a change.

thats what i was thinking of doing panky.was going to put commer panel logo on the side to advertise.with nice alloys aswell just to finish it off,oh and the straight six aswell.:p;)
 
Sounds sensible. A sheet of 1/8" aluminium sheet pop-riveted and sealed along the sides would look the part and provide a nice flat surface to get sign written. It would be fairly simple to remove and fit the windows at a later date if it took your fancy.

any idea when your going to start the resto on harvey yet as it would be good to see you at the meets in him next year.;)go on you know you want too.:p
 
Oh I want to but I am determined to finish the Mini first and you know how long that has taken[:0]. Front discs and pistons are knackered so I've got to re-build them, got my eye on an up-grade kit on ebay :p

hi woolfy :D cortina is undergoing major surgery, complete front suspension and steering swap [:0] and weld repairs thrown in :(.

i know but if your gonna do it you might aswell do it right both of those would be a good choice as many rodders before me have shown.;)
