went for £780 last time , i let him down,went for the one @ Rainham but left that 1 too as needed too much work for me,don't go with photo's .When we bid on her we were told it needed a few hundred pounds of welding ,brakes had work done on them ,seller told me he paid £700 2 years ago van came from yorkshire area,.Commer girl tried to contact him too , don't know how she fared but she got the 1 in Rainham.

How bad is this pistachio beauty?

I'm looking for a Commer (I'm in to old classics; currently driving a Golf mark 1, HUGE fun :p) and welding work doesn't scare me too much as I know a good (and reasonably priced) welder who actually has one of these that he's doing up for himself!

Any info would be much appreciated (have you been to see it Mr Rusty?) as I don't know whether to make a trip to see it before the auction ends or just leave well alone!

looked good enough for us to come from edinburgh..then i found the 1 in rainham , photo's "looked good" , if your close go see it first...being so far away we have to take people's word or go by pics ,the "radstock" owner gave me loads of info freely , genuine bloke , we let him down badly so feel we should not bid this time as we are still looking for one ourselves ,another camp fire saga story.This is a runner and you can weld welcome to commer land , people are watching this site now before they sell vans and demand is growing as vans on the dark side are well over priced ..we think anyways , and the forum is so friendly..

Davie, i think with a little explanation and a sorry for messing you around, mr Radstock would sell to you;-) Just give him a £100 into his Paypal/Bank as a safeguard!

And your right, can't believe the interest in Commer's just in a year? I reckon by next year prices are going to rocket big time. Maybe even on a par with Vee Dubs? Glad we got ours when we did.

I've contacted the Radstock guy and awaiting a reply. I'm not too far away (certainly not as far as Edinburgh!) so may go and see it if the bloke gets back to me.

As for "the dark side" - I'm guessing you mean VW campers?! SOOOO overpriced and nowhere near as cute as a Commer!

Great to see the prices going up if you own vans.. but to honest i like the fact that they are not on par with the VW prices.. Makes them seem special.. Saw countless vw on way to and from Cambridge, nothing unique about them when you see so many [}:)]

Our lovely Commers however are unique and thats why i love them so much...
