Radiator advice !

I need some advice please!
After having to steal the rad out of my campervan project in order to stop the post office van over heating, I now need a rad for the camper.
For anyone that doesn't know, Perkins powered vans had a 2 inch taller rad.

From the pic you can see I have 2 petrol rads and the diesel rad I took out the post office van. If I fill the diesel rad up with water then it flows out at what seems a good rate but I have to assume there is something wrong with it.

The question I have is, if I have it reconditioned, is there anyway I can have it made any more efficient?
Or,
Is there a product on the market that would sort the rad out? when it was in the van I did run a rad flush through it with no luck.

It could be just partially blocked, the cooling system isn't the best anyway so anything that reduces the efficiency wont help. The trouble with flushing is that you need a flow through the blocked areas for it to do any good - half of the tubes may be fine and very clean now:) I do remember someone saying (ages ago) that they had got a more efficient core fitted so they're out there, I guess a natter with the re-conditioners is in order:I

You could try caustic soda in it. Or just get it re-cored. It clearly has much more finning than the others. You could get a new one made with more cores, Kermit's is 5 core. :)

more cores and more efficient fins sound like the way I need to go. I have a nice big electric fan for it regardless.
I just want to make the hole system as fail safe as possible :)

My bespoke rad 5 core was about £350 you should phone around and get some quotes .. Well worth it for keeping cool

I think that was me Panky. I got the rad recored with the same stuff that is used in the V8 supercars. Expensive but worth it. It is three layers deep and much denser than the standard kind. Never goes above a quarter on the temp gauge now.
Strange the diesel has a bigger rad as i thought they run cooler than petrol?

I just need a good rootes...

For what its worth i tried the caustic soda and all it did was make it leak like a seive! (Good for cleaning the garage floor though)
 
£350 is only a example as I'm Cooling 3.5 supercharged v8 so would think something smaller would do just fine :0)

I got a multicore (cant remember now, maybe 5 core) alloy one built for petrol PB. Works a treat :D but was over £500 [:0]
