My old van had a sticky throttle cable, used to have to lift throttle pedal back up with my toes to get the revs back down again:I

Progress looks really good, sounds like you're onto the teething quirk home straight now - must be raring to go:D
 
Hey Paul is it definitely the cable kinked? I had a accelerator problem and it turned out to be the cross shaft lever, that joins the pedal to the cable, touching the under body. Might be worth a look.
 
The cable inner is frayed and gets stuck resulting in very high RPMs upon startup, not good really:(.A new one will be ordered in the morning from Speedys.

Careful, putting speedy on the side of a Commer might be a breach of the Trade Descriptions Act ;)
 
Cable ordered, and radiator dropped off at the rad shop for testing and possibly a recore..Bagged another unused Zenith 34IV of Ebay as well this week.Also got myself a small Gas heater for the van.
My temp gauge packed up strangely this week, i went out in the van, it worked for all of 5 mins then dropped sharply and hasnt worked since.A new one arrrived today from Speedys, im hoping it it shall solve the problem.

Well, its one long saga with Nomad, lol but deep down i believe i enjoy all the work i have to do to him.The radiator came back tested ok, so today got him all bolted back together and went for a drive to have to endure an awful rattling sound...:(.Im due to drive down to Devon for a festival on Thursday so this wasnt welcomed.Turns out the 'new' water pump i brought from Speedys a couple of months ago is shot..[:(!].I cant say i have overtightened the fan belt at all so i feel like asking for a replacement but i have two others luckily spare.WIth the pump disconnected the engine sounds very good, so MArtin yes thankyou!:D.
A kind gent today gave me five Dunlop M+S tyres, i drove by his house to see them stacked up with a sign saying 'free' on them...hardly used as well, one of them unused.Im gonna fit them this week.
The Universe must be looking after me eh!..
He also managed to stuff a gas bottle in the front of the car i was driving at the time, oh how kind eh!..lol.
So fingers X i can enjoy some 'roadtime' now like you lot!!!...recent probs have been quite testing for me but i have never once felt like giving up and will not if further probs arise!.

How was the finished product in Nomad once the Hunter engine was installed. Were you pleased with the finished result, or would you use a different mill nest time? Or what would you do different?
Reason I ask is that I am about to undertake fitment of a 1725 Holbay unit. Its got the twin 40s on, but i doubt very much if they will fit. Unless you know better? Any tips, considerations, knowledge would be really useful.
