Hi just a quick update, the paintwork on my commer is gloss that has been hand painted by the previous owner. Because its gloss the sanding down is going really well( until the rain came). There are some rust areas but I am giving them a real good rub down and then a lick of aquaseal.

If it's gloss then don't spray cellulose paint over it as it will react. Looks like the roller option is your best bet unless you remove all of the gloss layer.

I will do some photos tomorrow, what will be the best paint to use if I decide to roll( if the cellulose paint reacts with gloss I might not have any other choice) I also think there's a layer of cream gloss under the blue:(.
 
If it's definitely gloss then Rustoleum will be your best bet for rollering.

I've never used it but it gets glowing reports. You can probably spray it but you'll need to Google it and get some more info.

Just had al look on combi colors website, says you can spray it so that's what I'm going to do. I wanted to have a professional do it but just can't afford it.
 
Make sure you practice on something fist so you know exactly what kind of finish you'll get and how much to thin the paint down for best results.

Andrew, beware of spraying with it. It can be done obviously but there's a knack. Please go here for all the info on both methods. Use the forum area of the site too and read as much as possible. ;)

I have managed to get myself an electric sander, it's so much easier now. I'm still waiting on the paint. Should start painting it sometime next week. Where is the best place to get a spray gun from?

If you want to paint with celly or if anyone else wants to pant over some shody gloss hand panted job use this..

Its brilliant stuff but you need to make sure you prep the panel right first.You can put it on "wet on wet to" which helps the finish and time it takes with more prep. Just be carefull using electric sanders as it will look like you can surf down the panel when its been sanded!!

And remember people "ROLLERS ARE FOOR WALLS AND CEILINGS!!"

Each to their own Jon. Oh and i think you mean 'For Walls And Ceilings' Also i'm not sure i'd want to 'Pant' over anything??;)
 
I'm not suggesting for one minute that i will get as good results as this but i'm thinking what a tasty job matey's done. And not bad for a Roller ay :)
