Evening fellow commerades
Following chats at martin's meet, and the lack of any clear meetings set up for the rest of the year, I have looked into organising a meet down south for a weekend in October, probably any other that the weekend of the 6th/7th.
The proposed venue is in ivinghoe, Buckinghamshire, which is where I live. In the village there is stood campsite that would more than accommodate as many of us who wanted to turn up. The facilities are excellent, and even has a child play area, fire pit hire, and although listed as a family site, has a field for the use of groups away form the quiet area. The down side is there are limited hook ups, and they are away from the group field. However, I might be able to organise a generator for the weekend to power beer cooling facilities. Obviously, the is a charge for the use of the site, and these are per the tariffs on the web page. Unfortunately he doesn't do discounts.
As part of the lure of the event, I will organise a run on one of the days over to the lovely town of Dunstable, where we can all go on pilgrimage to the location where all of our lovely vans were produced - although there is now nothing much to see.
So, how many people would be interested in coming to this little gathering?
