popped my commer cherry

hi all,

for those of you who havent seen my first post in another post, i'd just like to say hi and tell you how pleased i am, to find such a great community here.

I recently popped my cherry, well, 2 days ago actually, and am just sorting out the collection/delivery details.

Here it is.... Patty, the last owners name for her. ( is it taboo to change the name?? )

From what i can gather it looks like a one man conversion ( thanks panky)

has anyone seen it around? or offer any other info on it? and your thoughts too

all would be appreciated!

i hope to get a quick MOT once i get it up home, use it over the summer, and then begin to sort it out over winter months (time and new baby permitting)

on the note of delivery/collection, i'm gonna have to get a transporter, does anyone know of a reasonably priced firm that they can recommend? i'm gathering quotes at the moment.

so, once again, thanks for the warm welcome, and i look forward to talkin to you all, and maybe get to one of the meets when i get it sorted.

Really unusual conversion, see if there are any labels or badges anywhere.
Where is it and where does it need to go to?

no it's not taboo to change the name, depending on the van I can't imagine any one ever changing Ran,Hut,Jay,chloe, skye,Mr chicko, charlie commer,(hope I spelt that one right!)to name but a few!Ran was Ran when I got her, can't see her ever changing only for the better. What's wrong with patty?sounds quite cool :Dwhat part of the country are you?for transporter. try [email protected]
she has arranged some good deals for me in the past,if you give her all the details & ask her to fit it in with another job should do it cheaper mention christine she will know who I am.Look forward to meeting :)

"RAN"the van & N0.1

has anyone seen it around? or offer any other info on it?[/font=Times New Roman]Hi teflontex-congrats on the Commer purchase. There were about four conversions available with the 'Spacemaker' roof. But identifying yours could be a problem as the interior does not look original. Use and enjoy!:)

hi again guys, cheers for the replies,

on further conversations with the previous owner, it seems its a hillman conversion?? that sound about right?
he is under the impression its the alternator thats the problem with engine, it starts and runs, but he suggests may be worth a look over.

I'm in dundee, so its a fair trek from wimbledon, got a quote for 600 quid, which i thought was reasonable, but i'm still open to new offers,

thanks commerchris for the lead, i'll email her today, much appreciated.

really cant wait to get her up to her new home (hope she fits in my garage.... height ways..)

suppose i'll just have to wait and see when i get her home.

thanks for the heads up chris!

have been in touch with Denise and she is doing it for an excellent price, very pleased!

I owe you a beer.... already!;)

I *think* the height on the autosleeper is 6'9" but yours could be more or less?

a bit cheaper than 600 martin??

the quote i got from gdvehicle delivery is well below this:D

and i mean well below......

and i think if i was to chase another quote i dont think commerchris would be too pleased with me after i have virtually almost sealed the deal with gdvehicle

thanks for the offer though! its been appreciated.
