Pop top roof off

Hey guys i have a commer wanderer and where the pop top meets to the van is rotton, im going to remove the pop top and pop rivited side sections and do work on it. Has anyone ever done this that could offer me some tips! cheers.
 
good luck with that alex we didnt have the guts to do ours when it got resprayed take some pictures of how you do it it will be interesting

I thibk thet left it on eventually - but it's an Autosleeper so different roof:I
Can't be that difficult - drill out the rivets and stand aside:)

I don't know the difference lol :I... Just seem to remember their's on the drive, unless it was someone else's [?]

i took one off if you remember, well the frame work anyway on basses van as his was beyond repair, so i had to take the one off of my camper roof and transplant it back onto his van to finish his off.;) not to bad a job to do really , just lots of little self tapper screws underneath the metal edge of the roof inside the van ,and a run of sealant around the outside to stop the water penertration. once i took all the screws out and sliced through the sealant it came off a treat.:p
 
Righto im just going to dive in head first, with some extra hands, and do it! Ill take a load of pics as i do it and post them up along with others that ive been taking along the way. The enging is running a treat now, i ended up getting the manifold skimmed for 40 quid as somehow the exhaust and inlet sections werent perfectly flat and as a result it was sucking in more air then fuel. But now its running like a beauty :D
