Hi Jules.
I'm probably just missing a really simple solution, but the heat that is causing us so much grief is the heat that comes out of the vents below the dash that can be closed (they're closed in the photo i posted), but this causes the hot air to blow up towards the windscreen. If it wasn't for this, I could live with the heat from the engine, although i think i'll copy your insulation as well.

P.S - Very impressed with how clean your engine is!

The pipe at the bottom is the drain for the airbox, it has the bulb that you squeeze on the end. The other 2 are water in and out of the heater. What you could do is fit a small bike radiator somewhere behind the front grille , and run the 2 pipes to that instead, that way you get the heat out of the cab, but still give the engine a bit of extra cooling capacity ;)
Fontaine has this set up, although the heater is still plumbed in, but thats our Fonty :D

Tim - The bike radiator sounds like a good idea. I might have a chat with you at commerfest, and a look at fontaine's set up if that's ok.

This wont be of much help to you but I used furnace pipework insulation - not exactly availble from B&Q:I But hot water tank jackets are:)

Cheers Panky. To keep us cool in the cab, i might buy 2, and make jackets for me and Claire. Surely it's got to be easier to insulate us from the heat, than to insulate the heat from the cab[?];)

Thanks Jules. If i hadn't just spent the last of my money on vinyl tiles for the floor i'd be out to buy some today. Still, Pay day Tomorrow!!

After packing up from "Commerfest", we headed to Hull to see Claire's family, then over the Humber bridge and down to a little campsite about 15 miles north of Boston. Lovely little site called Wood Farm, got a fishing lake in the middle, they let you have campfires in firepits they rent out, and the couple who run it couldn't be nicer. Definately recommend a stay there if you're in the area. http://www.woodfarmcaravanandcamping.co.uk/
