Hello everyone. Well we have been progressing slowly with Pootle over the last few months and I did little over winter months as the wiring in the cab all needed renewing but it was too cold and wet for the job - plus I was rebuilding the red Italian Stallion;
So over last couple of weeks I have finished the rewire and happily the rebuilt Alpine engine still starts well and all electrics work. There are still lots of jobs to do but the old bus is just about usable now and I need to do a few runs to get some miles on the engine and see how many speeding tickets I can get now the overdrive is fitted! The biggest fear I still have is about overheating but we shall see how that goes with a few miles. One question I have is how can I get air out of the heater radiator under the dash as it is higher than the engine so I feel it will generally try to fill with air? Perhaps it just gets pushed out if water comes in the bottom and out the top? Next question is about the air duct that sits under the front and behind the grille. I have a recollection that someone suggested that it's better to fit this upside down so that it acts like a scoop to try to get more cooling air?
Console layout

Whilst refitting the dash I removed a blanking plate to find cutouts on left - are these of LHD version of vehicle?

Well I was intending doing some more work on her today but it's now started pee-sing-down so it must be the camping season then?
Cheers
