Plexi-glass Engine Cover

I want to make the between seats engine cover strong enough to sit on. And I dont think the standard one is going to fit any more as i'm planning a modded rad. And I thought if I had to make a new one, I'd like to see my engine too (I'm a bit odd). So I though maybe plexiglass or persepex. Anyone here any experience of replacement engine covers?

Cheers

Odd is good[^] I think it will need to be double tripple glazed to keep the noise down [:0]

That is a very good point which I hadnt even considered. So i will also need some of that useful invisible sound insulation material.:(

You would probably need 10mm perspex sheet to do it. You should be able to cut the plastic sheet to size, and then heat it very gently to mould it to shape. It works ok as soundproofing, but tbh I would be scared of sitting on it, and it would scratch, and would probably get pretty dirty quite quickly. Also when it gets warm, it could start to melt again which would be messy!!
