This is the poor little mini that they sent down a ski slope, in Top Gear...

And this was the Fiat Limo, one of the Top Gear team (can't remember which one) built and drove around London, with a celeb in the back... was a sorry sight, but amusing lol... so long was hard to get a good picture :D

Hi, That was our van hiding under the trees.it was the first outing since back from the garage. Sorry I didn't get in touch but I forgot to take your number with me.
But the van works so next journey is Tuesday when we move up north
 
Its ok lol we had no service on the phone all day while we we're there...:)

Good luck with the move... not many of us in the south and another one heads up north :(

I had the nerve to ask if they would sell it lol!

Apparantly it belonged to a Mr & Mrs Reed who bought it new in 1963 as a panel van then had it converted. They then used it to travel all round Europe. They then donated it to the museum, completely as you see it now! all pots, pans,cereal packets, coffee packets and even the little black and white TV in the back...it's just as it was when donated:D

Something I found interesting .........during the convo, I was told a story about the guy who was talking to the nice museum lady before me.....There is a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost that the guy had driven as chauffer to Barbara Cartland for some 20 yrs....they let him through the ropes and let him sit in it. They also offered to let him sit in the back, to which he declined, saying, ''I drove it for 20yrs and never sat in the back and I couldn't now'' he was quite emotional.

Also there was a Rover P4 that belonged to a Mr Cheverton from Isle of wight. A man approached and mentioned that he had fitted the wing mirrors to the car when it was new for Mr Cheverton! He also said that Mr Cheverton had complained about a rattle at speed, so he drilled a hole and put an extra screw in the rear no. plate. The museum lady couldn't resist having ducking under the rope to look......sure enough, 3 bolts instead of 2!

I could of stayed chatting for hours but 1 of the boys came and got mr, Cazz had been looking for me everywhere lol:D:D
