petrol tank

Hi I am new to this site but not new to commer campers having owned mine for 15 years it being a 1975 pb.
Last summer I had to remove the petrol tank to weld the chassie and it now leaks from where it has rusted very thin.
Rather than try to mend it(I think its on its last legs) I want to replace it BUT cant find one.
Does any one know if these are being made or are there any good old ones.
I would be very grateful for any help as i need to get the old thing going again.

Hi Rustyblue - and welcome onboard

Petrol tanks were discussed a few weeks back, if I remember correctly. But I can't find it on the forum.. I'm sure somone else can direct you to the right spot, but you may want to scan through recent subjects. You may find it.

Panky, you seem to have memory like glue. Do you remember what subject that alu tank was under?

Thanks for the great responce to my petrol tank problem
Its nice to find so many commer fans.
I will post a pic of my van when i can work out how to!
I would love one of the replacement tanks commeracer is making.I can wait for a few months but would like to be up and running in the spring

Hi RustyBlue - Welcome - hope petrol tank advice proves helpful, they are pretty prone to this problem[V] have been welding chassis in that area myself - another commer water trap
