Petrol tank leak

I have taken my petrol tank of to do some welding on the chassis; I decided to give it a wire brush and paint. When I wire brushed the mud off I noticed small pinholes in the top half of the tank. :(
Has any body had this problem? And how did you cure it?
Or is there some body that makes the steel tanks?

Yes,this was done to go where the water tank was,hence the shape.The water tanks seem to be much bigger & better suited for fuel.This now belongs to woolfy.

I gave my petrol tank to the local radiator repairer as he thought he would be able to repair it. I got a phone call to day [V] and he said that it was to bad to repair as he solded one part another hole would apear :( He recomended using this company

i can make an ali replacement for you for alot less than that, so long as you dont mind waiting a while ;)

no worries jim, i have a plan [:eek:)] am going to make a batch of ten to replace the originals, but slightly bigger where possible for extended range :) 4 are already spoken for, so i can chalk you in if you want one. cost wise would be around £100-125 (might even be less):D

well i was going to do these when i move into a new workshop in september, but it looks like i might have to rethink that to a bit sooner, due to the crushing pressure from commer owners [:0];):D
