I filled my van Sat.evening went to it Monday only half a tank and a strong smell of petrol doesnt seem to be a puddle underneath smell is at back. Any ideas anyone I have read about filler pipe not sure would the petrol evaporate so quick. Only done 3 miles home from petrol station !

that's an expensive 3 miles [V]sounds too me like the seam on the tank has gone? just put a fiver in at a time ? :I

Yori is doing this too - had the breather pipe changed too to be sure but it did it again on a not very hot day.
Its a reasonably full tank but has done about a hour of driving since last fill up.
I was also having trouble with the filling up process - constantly getting fuel all the way up the pipe [V]
Hoped the new breather would fix this

To update this thread
Refueling yori is a two man operation - someone in the wardrobe to take the breather pipe off and waggle it up and down to free the lock so that the other person can continue fueling - there are no visible kinks but I will recheck.
Plus with 3/4 of a tank of fuel at the weekend and the van safely at the campsite the warming up on Saturday morning lead to the old fuel out of the filler scenario described in this thread. A great deal of waggling in the wardrobe sorted this out with a sputter.

Also I checked the engine on Friday before setting off as part of the pre checks and there was a LOT of fuel leaking from the end of the pipe where it meets the carb. dribbling all over the manifold (AGAIN!). It was a fairly simple fix; tightening a jubilee clip but lightening would have struck twice imho!will check with the mechanic if this was a replacement clip or the same one that was on before the fire!
