Cheers Trev'. There's just something about Rootes cars, maybe it's because they're the underdog in the classic world compared to the Fords and BMC/Leyland stuff and even the Vauxhall stuff to a lesser extent. But as we know, the Imp is far better than any equivalent Mini, Madge (my Singer Vogue) is better than a Mk2 Cortina (except perhaps the Lotus version) and the Commers have so much character compared to Transits etc.
Dave, Watford to Yeovil for welding is a bit of a trek, especially if it's for the MOT! I really do appreciate the offer but if it's just structural welding Rich' has all the gear and has helped with LNK before. Cosmetic welding I'll probably get Glenn in Hayes to do it. I'll learn todo it myself one day when I have more time.

I did mention "equivalent" Mini, a standard 1275 Mini will out-perform a standard 875cc Imp. But, if you take a tuned 998cc Imp and put it up against a tuned 998cc Mini I'd bet on the Imp every time. Don't get me wrong, Minis are great cars, it's just that Imps are betterer!
