PB Service Checklist..comments please..

Dear all,

I have put togther an Annual Service checklist for my PB using the material posted on the other thread. I would welcome any ommisions I have made or mistakes, I can post this as a Word or PDF with ceck boxes and space for notes (a much more user friendly table-type document)if others are interested.

Drain and refill Gearbox
Gearbox Lubricate
· Trunion·
Universal joint
Clutch
· Lubricate lever jaw pin
· Inspect pipes
· Check Master cylinder Fluid
· Lubricate pedal pivot
Brakes
· Lubricate pedal jaw pivot
· Check all pipes
· Check Master Cylinder fluid level
· Check and adjust all brakes
· Check Handbrake
Steering
· Check oil level in box
· Top up steering box (EP90)
· Lubricate steering linkages
· Lubricate King Pins (Top and Bottom)
Front suspension
· Lubricate suspension link bushes (6 grease nipples each side)
Prop Shaft – lubricate universal joints
Top up back axle oil
Drain and refill back axle (1l EP90)
Clean rear axle breather
Change Tyres Diagonally
Oil Door Locks
Oil Hinges
· Doors
· Engine Cover
Clean drain holes in doors
Check battery cells
Check radiator level
Check antifreeze mixture (7l + 0.6l for heater))
Shock Absorbers
· Check mountings
· Check fluid level in rears
Lubricate hub bearings and check for end float
Lights
· Headlights
· Side (R & F)
· Indicators
· Brake lights
· Spot lights
 
excellent list,i would include check exhaust joints for leaks and check wheelnuts are tight,check and lubricate jack and check condition of all tyres especially the spare.

One very important thing you missed out......

Do all of the above with much love and care!!

Do not, forget to talk lovingly to said Commer, it's not just a van but very much one of the family!!

Slushy? maybe! but, however if you go about such things with a passion rather than a doctor/patient relationship, it has to be beneficial:D

I have added a few things that may be a good idea.

Renew Air Filter
Clean fuel filter
Clean Flame Trap
Adjust or renew fan belt
Clean Carb filter and float
Torque wheel nuts
Check or replace wiper blades
Check exhaust and joints
Check and tidy wiring
Engine tune up Valves/ timing/ carb/ idle speed etc

· Check and adjust all brakes Renew pads
· Check Handbrake Lubricate linkaege
Steering
· Check oil level in box
· Top up steering box (EP90)
· Lubricate steering linkages
· Lubricate King Pins (Top and Bottom)
Front suspension
· Lubricate suspension link bushes (6 grease nipples each side)

Top up back axle oil
Drain and refill back axle (1l EP90)
Clean rear axle breather
Change Tyres Diagonally. Check condition and pressures on all 5 tyres
Oil Door Locks
Oil Hinges
· Doors
· Engine Cover
Clean drain holes in doors
Check battery cells Clean and grease terminals
Check radiator level
Check antifreeze mixture (7l + 0.6l for heater)) Or renew
Shock Absorbers
· Check mountings
· Check fluid level in rears
Lubricate hub bearings and check for end float. Or repack new grease
Lights
· Headlights
· Side (R & F)
· Indicators
· Brake lights
· Spot lights
